Let us look to the sun perhaps we can make a bundle of its rays

The Assyrian political arena has been busy with extensive discussions in regards to our national Cause, with a loud dialogue about the content, which brought some of its factions to the brink of slipping…

Our people have passed through many years, months and days, of darkness which engulfed every thing around us as well as our spirit, hopes, paths, lives, confidence, the reality and the truth of our people; thus we found ourselves un able to see the way, fumbling through a long path and stumbling through the problems, hurdles and obstructions.

The change in national and political criteria or the double and triple standards according to personal interests are considered to be the most important factors in the decline, failure and dispersing of nations, because relations lose the balance and control allowing anarchy, doubts, opportunism, improvising, and recklessness disregarding the rights of others. In the absence of national standards; self interest replaces with all that follows of conflicting political standards and multiple paths. The people’s ability to recognize reactions weakens and they fall into a state of perplexity which disperses and gradually leads them to resolve themselves of any obligation. Thus matters deteriorate until the violation of principles and affirmations turn into a sort of a skill.

There are those who at times try to be the geniuses and the saviors, but we have to measure matters through the results, and harvest usually comes according to what’s sown. We held many slogans which have disappeared, the Assyrian banner has disappeared, the self- reliance slogan has been lost in the crowd of defeat, and dealing with the Kurds who are occupying our land “the land of Ashur” has become a national interest, etc.

How are we supposed to remain resilient before all this? When some of us are defending Ashur’s occupiers while others are working to preserve a dignified survival, and others are trying to find an outlet in the remaining wall and tower of our citadel thinking that their salvation is out there but where? Is this another strategy to sweep whatever is left? The most important thing is that we don’t let them transgress our culture and the fortress of our identity.

Let’s determine to face the eclipse and not listen to the claims of “blindness” if we look to the sun, for he who doesn’t look to the sun doesn’t know the answer to the question:” What’s the purpose of life”? Let us look to the sun perhaps we can make a bundle of its rays to reflect those rays with our bodies and willful minds before we are overcome with an eclipse without light or rays in the years of our times!!...
